What’s the face of crime look like? Perhaps it looks like 24 year-old David Adam Pate, a gentleman who’s been charged with murder in Lancaster, South Carolina. WIST reports that the badly decomposed body of Rickey W. James was found last week in the woods in the town, and investigators had found that James and Pate had gone into the woods five weeks prior, and Pate killed James and concealed his body in a pile of brush. Pate was charged on Friday, but he’d been arrested two weeks prior for disorderly conduct and had been jailed since on the charge.
Apart from having a forked tongue, Pate also has seven face tattoos, including “Satan” above his right eyebrow and what looks a hell of a lot like a Slipknot logo between his eyes. His mugshot is both disturbing as hell and perhaps a cautionary tale to body modification. It’s hard to figure out what the numbers tattooed on his neck mean, but needless to say, he’s likely going to be incarcerated for quite a while.
“Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Mr. James. We are thankful that we were able to solve this case so quickly, Sheriff Barry Faile said. “Our investigators did a great job putting this case together. We suspected Pate almost immediately but had to wait on lab results to prove it. We are thankful he is in jail where he belongs.”
