Of all the classical music instruments out there, cello is probably the most metal. It’s low, heavy and mournful, but also has a pretty great attack. Apocalyptica realized that a long time ago, and have built their career off of it. More recently, we’ve gotten to hear Opeth covered by cello, and Rob Scallon and a friend stopped by a BYOB establishment to play System of a Down on cello. Now, a YouTuber simply known as “celloshredder” has done a version of Slipknot’s “Wait and Bleed.” Part of what makes this good other than the interesting arrangement is that the dude looks decidedly non-metal, even wearing a bow tie at some points.
