Tim “Ripper” Owens did not precisely leave Iced Earth on good terms; in fact, he had a bad falling out with Jon Schaffer. Owens spent four years with the band from 2003 until December of 2007 until questions about “Ripper’s” commitment to the group started to surface. Unfortunately, the split was less than amicable.

In a recent interview with Tulsa music stream, Owens was asked if he had spoken to Schaffer since his arrest for his involvement in the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. He stated that he has had no contact with the guitarist for at least fifteen years but commented on his arrest by saying that Schaffer made a mistake and that he was going to regret it for the rest of his life, adding, “All I can say is Wow.”

Owens is now the vocalist for K.K.’s Priest, K.K. Downing’s new project amid criticism that they look and sound exactly like Judas Priest. Why shouldn’t they?
