Remember Life of Agony? They used to be so badass. Their first album, River Runs Red, was an instant hardcore classic, making fans of everyone from metal kids to guidos from Brooklyn. Each successive album got a little more emo and more commercial, and singer Keith Caputo left the band in 1997. They reunited in 2003, and put out the mostly forgettable 2005 album Broken Valley.

Now, to paraphrase Beavis and Butthead, Caputo has gone over the edge – of wuss cliff. Here he is covering Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.” In addition to being awful, it’s not even fun. I doubt Cyndi ever envisioned her chick anthem being played as a downbeat acoustic version. For his EP, Cheat, he also covered a song by Antony and the Johnsons. Seems like the river runs pink now…
