Slash Discusses The Legacy Of Sam Kinison On That Metal Show

Posted by on December 1, 2010

In this week’s upcoming episode of That Metal Show. Hosts Jim Florentine, Don Jamieson, and Eddie Trunk sit down with legendary rock ‘n roll guitarist Slash (well, legendary until he started shredding with Fergie) to discuss the DVD release of Back From Hell: A Tribute To Sam Kinison.

As a fellow metalhead and comedian, Jamieson spoke to Metal Insider earlier about Kinison about how he brought those two worlds together:

As a comedian, I feel that there have been very few comics who have pushed the boundaries of comedy like Sam and even fewer that bridged the gap between rock ‘n roll and comedy like Sam. As a That Metal Show host, I am proud to support Back From Hell. It’s a must-see tribute to a legendary comic.”

The clip below features Slash recalling stories from the set of Sam’s video for “Wild Thing”. Which had cameos by many rock icons, including an admittedly-out-of-it Slash who was charged with swinging a guitar violently, trying to his best to smash the shit out of the thing.

Here’s the clip. This episode of That Metal Show will premiere this Saturday, December 4th at 11pm (EST) on VH1 Classic.

And here’s the “Wild Thing” video in question.
