Last month, YouTube genius Rob Scallon played a metal song on a bass, which in and of itself isn’t that impressive. However, the fact that it was a one-string bass made from a shovel and an EMG pickup was a little more impressive. And because the musician wanted to prove that it’s more than a one-trick pont, he dug out the shovel-bass for another song, this time, a cover of Rage Against the Machine’s defiant anthem “Killing in the Name.” Did Rage Against the Machine think that one day their focal point of their 1992 self-titled album would be covered by some dude on a shovel 24 years later? Probably not, but it’s still a fun watch, especially when it switches to a guy trying to dig a hole with a guitar.
