If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our favorite late night talk show that doesn’t really exist, Two Minutes to Late Night, it’s to expect the unexpected. Sure, some things haven’t changed about the show, which lives on YouTube. There’s host Gwarsenio Hall, the backdrop of Saint Vitus Bar, and (sorry, The Roots) the best backing band on any real or fake late night show ever, Mutoid Man. What we’re surprised by the most in their latest video is Royal Thunder’s Mlny Parsonz. Mutoid Man perform a cover of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” which finds them joined by the singer, as well as Gwarsenio on rhythm guitar. And while Parsonz is one of the best vocalists out there, she’s been more or less playing it safe on the band’s last few records. But listen to her larynx-shredding screams at the end. If anyone could make Miley metal, it’s Mutoid Man and Parsonz. The video claims that there are two other covers that Parsonz and Mutoid Man covered together. We’ll see what the next two are soon, and are looking forward to it.
