It’s not often that Metallica release an album, and they’re really pulling out all the stops for Hardwired… To Self Destruct, which is out tomorrow on Blackened Recordings. So are we, and if you think we’re going a little overboard, wait `til tomorrow. At any rate, the band stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, and had a blast. Fallon has the best late night band ever in The Roots, and one thing they do sometimes is take childhood classroom music instruments and play songs with them in an extremely tight space. The band did that yesterday with “Enter Sandman,” and it’s as adorable as it sounds. If you would have told us right after …And Justice For All came out that Metallica would be on the same show Johnny Carson hosted at the time playing one of their songs on children’s instruments with a hip-hop band, we would’ve probably punched you in the face and stole your beer.
