On Tuesday (9th), Mastodon and Gojira fans at the Virginia Credit Union Live! at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, VA, was in for a double treat. As one of the stops on the co-headlining Mega-Monsters tour, Gojira vocalist/guitarist Joe Duplantier surprised the crowd by joining Mastodon on stage for a powerful rendition of their 2004 hit, “Blood and Thunder.” The surprises didn’t end there for the concertgoers that evening. Given this stop approached Lamb of God’s territory, the crowd had a special treat seeing Randy Blythe join Gojira on stage to perform their song “Backbone.” The night was another showcase of incredible talent from these metal giants giving, once again, a truly unforgettable performance.
