The surviving original members of KISS were formally presented with their 2025 Kennedy Center Honor medals during a ceremony in the Oval Office on Saturday (6), where U.S. President Donald Trump recognized this year’s honorees. Actor Sylvester Stallone, singers Gloria Gaynor and George Strait, and actor-singer Michael Crawford were also part of the 2025 class.
Trump introduced Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss, and honored the late guitarist Ace Frehley, noting that Frehley’s daughter Monique accepted the medal on his behalf. The president praised KISS as an “incredible rock band” while acknowledging Ace’s legacy during the presentation.
