Mayones Guitars and Seymour Duncan Pickups are currently holding an online video contest, where guitarists are challenged to film themselves shredding over a backing track recorded by guitar great Keith Merrow. Above is the video entry from Max Gorelick. Why is a video of some youngster shredding such a big deal? Well as it turns out, the young shredder is none other than the son of Kenneth “Kenny G.” Gorelick.

That’s right, THE Kenny G. The same curly haired saxophonist whose smooth jazz music probably served as your parents’ soundtrack to… we’ll spare you from that mental image. And here’s the kicker: Max is a pretty damn good shredder. Even Megadeth (of all bands) agrees, posting on Facebook along with the video that “His dad may live in your elevator, but Kenny G’s kid shreds!”

Watch Max shred for yourself in the video above. And in case you think you can do better, enter Mayones Guitars and Seymour Duncan Pickups’ online video contest for yourself (five finalists will be chosen by January 20).
