Even if you’re not a fan of guitar shredders, Marty Friedman’s Prosthetic debut, Inferno, has a little something for everyone. The former Megadeth guitarist turned Japanese superstar crams in songs with vocals from members of Revocation (“Sociopaths”), Children of Bodom (“Lycanthrope”) and Danko Jones (“I Can’t Relax” and “Lycanthrope”). a song with Rodrigo y Gabriela, and even one featuring his former Cacophony bandmate Jason Becker. He’s just released a video for “Hyper Doom,” which isn’t doomy, but is hyper. It’s a quick instrumental song that accomplishes less in two minutes than some bands do on an entire album. Check it out above.
