Just last week, Metal Injection brought us up to date on the whereabouts of Iron Thrones, the band that won our No Label Needed contest and series. The band had disbanded earlier this year, with vocalist Adam Clemens joining Profound Lore black metal band Wolvhammer, drummer Peter Clarke playing with a band called Bill Pulmonary Embolism and comedy rock band Goddamn BBQ. Guitarist Steve Henningsgard is working at Signature Tone Studios in Minneapolis. We last saw Curtis Parker a few years ago at SXSW when he was touring with Mose Giganticus, but he’s got a new project, Witchripper, that we’re pretty excited about.

Parker describes Witchripper as stoner prog, which is a pretty good summation of what they sound like. It’s definitely less Isis-like and a bit more melodic than Iron Thrones were. The band’s EP is streaming on their Bandcamp page. He’ll be releasing a video for each of the four songs on the EP every five days. The first of them, “Space Debris,” can be viewed after the jump.
