This isn’t particularly metal in terms of the music, but it’s extremely metal in terms of a bat biting a dude. Last weekend in Oregon, a few bros were sitting around jamming some sweet tunes in the woods on a camping trip when a bat decided it wasn’t too into the music, landing on guitarist Derrick Skou’s chest, crawling up to his neck, and biting him. “It was like a cold dog nose,” Skou told KOMO News. “It was a cold bat nose, mouth, whatever. It didn’t sting. I wasn’t injected with anything. It was just a cold bite.” The bat flew back into a tree and tried to attack him two more times before a friend shot it with a BB gun. The bat was found to be have rabies, so Skou needed to get shots. The reporter even asked if it might be the music that led to him being bitten, with Slou saying that it was a “strong possibility.” So far, neither Overkill or Avenged Sevenfold have claimed responsibility. However, Avenged Sevenfold did announced that their mobile game, Hail to the King: Deathbat, will be released on October 18th today. Coincidence?
