As NIN concert film lands, Trent Reznor denies Al Jourgensen collaboration

We don’t throw the word “beautiful” around that often here at Metal Insider, but after seeing Nine Inch Nails live earlier this year, that’s the only word that comes to mind. They have one of the best live shows we’ve seen in terms of staging, lighting and production ever, hands down. And while the newer material isn’t as compelling (to us) as their early albums, it takes on a new life when performed live. That’s why we’re psyched to see that the band has released an entire concert of their recent tour for free on Vevo. Tension 2013 was recorded just last month at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and while it’s not quite as amazing as being there, it’s still fantastic. There’s also a ‘making of’ where you can see what went into the making of the stage show.

In other Nine Inch Nails news, Trent Reznor did an AMA on Reddit earlier today. He spoke about his involvement with Beats, who are launching their streaming service in January. However, one of the more interesting responses he gave came in response to a question asked regarding Al Jourgensen. In an interview earlier this year, the Ministry frontman claimed that he was discussing projects with Reznor, as well as Lil Wayne. Those discussions must not have reached Reznor yet, as his response was “You know as much as I do. I haven’t heard from Al in years.” So looks like that won’t be happening any time soon.
