When Saint Vitus frontman Scott “Wino” Weinrich was sent back to America yesterday after being arrested and detained for possession of illegal substances, it was unclear what he had and how much of it. Well, according to a Norwegian newspaper, Wino was caught at the Norwegian border with 11 bags of methamphetamine. That’s a hell of a lot of anything, and would’ve been pretty hard to hide.
It also speaks to the fact that he’s a man that’s struggled with substance abuse for most of his career, and while he’d spoken in a recent interview about recently ending a seven year methamphetamine bender, that clearly wasn’t the end of everything for him. It’s unclear what, if any, charges he’ll face back in Los Angeles, but here’s hoping he gets the help he needs. Saint Vitus have continued on with their tour without him, and the above and below videos show the band at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg, Sweden on November 11th, the first day without him.
