It’s been a while since we had to write a similar headline but it seems that things will never change when it comes to bands firing their members without personally telling them but letting them find out from some random metal blog online.

Last month, Philip Anselmo & the Illegals parted ways with their guitarist Marzi Montazeri and the way it was made seem is that it was mutually agreed that the split happened. “He’s the type of guy that needs to be the focal point of pretty much anything he does. So he’s got that now and I’m happy for him. More power to him.” said Anselmo during an interview with Metalunderground.com.

Turns out that Montazeri wasn’t even aware he was out of the band until that moment Anselmo said that, as he explained Jack Antonio of “Do You Know Jack?” radio show when asked if he was in talking terms with Anselmo:

“Well, I ain’t talked to ’em. It’s kind of funny. You’re the only one that’s asking me these questions… Well, I mean, I’ll tell you the truth. No, I haven’t spoken to any of ’em, and I found out through the Internet that I wasn’t in the band. But we’re gonna leave it at that, man. Again, like I said, I wish them the best. And I’m doing my thing, and there’s no hard feelings on my camp or me, period. And if anything, I appreciate the fact that Philip gave me a chance so that the rest of the world could know who I am. That’s that, man.”

There doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between them, at least on Montazeri’s behalf and he seems to be ready to move ahead with his own project and not cause any unnecessary drama, unlike others who just like to keep the fire burning.

Montazeri contributed to the sound of the band’s debut album Walk Through Exits Only which sold 8,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 35 on The Billboard 200 chart and now he’s involved on his own project Heavy As Texas with Mangy James and Adam Denoth.
