Welsh band Lostprophets very suddenly ceased to exist in 2012 when singer Ian Watkins was arrested and charged with various pedophilia charges, including the attempted rape of a one year old. Watkins is currently in prison serving a 35 year sentence. However, the fact that he’s going to be in jail for quite a long time doesn’t seem to be stopping him from tweeting, and possibly even teasing new music coming next year.

The last time the disgraced singer used his Twitter account was back in 2012, a few days before he was arrested. However, yesterday, his account resurfaced with links to a Soundcloud page for L’AmourLaMorgue, a side project of his from 2009. The 7-second teaser track has the hashtag “2017,” suggesting there may be new music coming next year. So far the comments left on the Soundcloud teaser suggest that no one’s really going to be particularly forgiving of Watkins. The reappearance of his Twitter account brings up several questions as well. Was it hacked? Does he have access to a computer in prison? Given that he’s a convicted pedophile, that’s not such a good thing. If this is really happening, it’s hard to imagine who Watkins’ audience will be, and at least we don’t have to worry about a tour or any press.
