Billboard reports, the surviving members of We Came As Romans will hold a memorial concert for the late Kyle Pavone on October 28th at the Fillmore in their hometown of Detroit, Michigan. While the group are currently on tour supporting Bullet For My Valentine, The Promise Me Tribute will take place during this run and will raise money for the newly established Kyle Pavone Foundation. Co-vocalist Dave Stephens announced this special performance during last night’s show (7th) at the same venue, stating:
“A whole bunch of guest vocalists, guest musicians, tons of DJS. It’s just gonna be a big party celebrating all the awesome things Kyle did in his life.”
He added:
“The only reason we’re still doing this is we want to honor Kyle’s legacy, want to honor his memory, we want to keep playing these songs. This was his dream. Being on this stage was his favorite place to be — but not just any stage, this stage in Detroit.”
Kyle Pavone died on Saturday, August 25th at the age of 28 from an accidental overdose. Last night’s show marked the band’s first hometown performance since Pavone’s passing.
