Fans of prog metal and/or djent are creaming their djeans right now, as it’s been announced that Periphery will be touring this and bringing UK’s Sikth along with them for their first-ever tour of America. Toothgrinder and CHON will round out the excellent lineup. It’s been a decade since we’ve gotten a full-length album from Sikth, who’s excellent Death of a Dead Day made them progenitors of the djent genre alongside Meshuggah/ They broke up in 2008 before fully getting to get the credit and popularity they deserved, but reunited in 2013, releasing an EP last year. Periphery should have their follow-up to Alpha and Omega out by then as well. Meanwhile, Toothgrinder’s incredible year of touring just keeps getting better.
