15) Furnace Fest sold to new ownership

Furnace Fest has been sold to an unnamed production company in an effort to clear outstanding debts and stabilize the future of the Birmingham, Alabama festival. The move follows growing questions surrounding the lack of updates for Furnace Fest 2026, which was announced at the close of the 2025 edition but has yet to reveal any artists. Organizer Johnny Grimes confirmed the festival operated at a financial loss and was unable to fully cover remaining artist guarantees, leading to an agreement in which a larger production company paid the outstanding balances and acquired the festival outright. As part of the sale, Grimes, founder Chad Johnson, and the remaining original organizers will no longer be involved moving forward.

Following news of the sale, veteran concert and festival promoter Mike Ziemer, who helped revive Furnace Fest in 2020 alongside Ryan Luther, Johnny Grimes, and Chad Johnson, publicly accused two former partners of alleged misconduct tied to the transition. The acquiring company has not yet been officially confirmed, though it is rumored to be Peachtree Entertainment. A day after the sale was publicly revealed, Ziemer issued the following statement:

“Myself and Ryan Luther were lied to, gaslit, and left off the team after 2024, the year we were told was the last year. “Ryan and I handled all booking for 2021-2024, I ran all marketing and paid ads for 2021-2024 along with media team and many other tasks, and between us we did most of the on-site coordination. Also, the ticketing company and most major sponsors were my relationships. The remaining two partners got greedy and felt they could do it without us in 2025 despite telling us over and over the fest couldn’t sustain a profit outside of year 1 and 2.

I kept my mouth shut because I was promised a buy out that never came. Another lie. Ryan and I’s buyouts are not included in the bankruptcy and we are just shit out of luck for everything we built and get to watch it all go down in flames.

So much for caring about brotherhood and community, just another shining example of Christian hypocrisy that turns so many people away from religion.

I promise that this will never be the Furnace Fest you all know and love without myself and Ryan being a part of it. It took 4 of us to make this what was so special, but only 2 people to destroy it.

I have a lot more to say… but that’s for later.”

16) Rock The Country festival cancels Anderson, SC stop

The Kid Rock-led Rock The Country festival has canceled its scheduled July 25–26 stop in Anderson, SC due to “unforeseen circumstances.” A statement from the Anderson County Administrator has addressed the situation:

“Anderson County has been proud to host Rock the Country for the past two years. The event was a huge success drawing tens of thousands of visitors, making a multi-million-dollar economic impact on the Upstate. An event of this caliber proved what a great venue and exceptional hospitality we have here in Anderson County. Of course, we are disappointed that Rock the Country will not return to Anderson this year.

We are already planning additional major events and look forward to exciting announcements to come. Anderson County is committed to bringing high quality arts and entertainment to our community.”

Shinedown also confirmed their exit from the event on Friday (6) noting:

“We have one BOSS, and it is everyone in the audience. Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide. With that in mind, we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock The Country Festival.“

The Anderson dates have since been removed from the festival’s official schedule, which had originally featured Creed, Brantley Gilbert, Gretchen Wilson, Morgan Wade, Lakeview, and others on July 25, followed by Shinedown, Ludacris, Parmalee, Chase Matthew, and more on July 26. The cancellation follows several recent artist withdrawals, including Ludacris, Morgan Wade, and Faith Carter, amid increasing backlash tied to the festival’s political MAGA-leaning event. Organizers later issued a statement addressing the situation:

“Rock The Country‘ was created to unite people together through music. Our lineups and our crowds reflect that sentiment a wide range of voices, backgrounds, and stories that make up this country.

We’re truly disappointed we won’t be bringing the show to Anderson. Our fans work hard for their money, and we refuse to put on a show that doesn’t meet the standard they deserve.

Our focus remains where it’s always been: supporting our artists, honoring our fans, and delivering unforgettable nights throughout the country. The shows ahead represent the heart of what ‘Rock The Country’ stands for: music, community, and pride in where we come from.

Loving America isn’t political; it’s who we are.”

Despite the setback, the remaining tour stops are currently expected to proceed, with Kid Rock joined by performers such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aaron Lewis with The Stateliners, and Asking Alexandria vocalist Danny Worsnop among the scheduled acts. More information available at this location.
