Foo Fighters drummer Josh Freese is set to reunite with A Perfect Circle for select dates during their Sessanta tour, marking his first performance with the band in thirteen years. The tour, celebrating Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday, will also feature Puscifer and Primus, alongside a recently announced E.P.P.P. Freese, who will join A Perfect Circle for the first thirteen shows, starting from April 2 in Boston to April 20 in Los Angeles. Gunnar Olsen from Puscifer will take over for the remaining dates until May 4 in Forest Hills, New York.
Due to his Foo Fighters commitments, Freese will step down after the Hollywood Bowl show on April 20, with a possibility of returning for additional gigs if time permits.
Freese expressed his excitement for reuniting with A Perfect Circle, stating via Instagram:
“Happy to report that for the first time in 13 years I’ll be going out with A Perfect Circle on the upcoming ‘Sessanta’ tour. Due to my schedule with the Foo Fighters I’ll be having to jump off after the Hollywood Bowl on April 20. Gunnar from Puscifer will be filling in on the remaining dates (maybe a little Tim Alexander too?) There’s a chance I’ll be able to show up to another gig or two after that if time allows but for now that’s the plan. A Perfect Circle has always been a very special band for me and I’m really looking forward to getting out and playing these songs again.”
Freese has previously played on the band’s first three albums and briefly rejoined during their 2010 reunion. Although he didn’t feature on their 2018 record, Eat The Elephant, Freese is looking forward to reuniting with A Perfect Circle on the stage again.
