Tool’s official website startled every fan out there with just a simple update that reads “Wait for it…” and many speculated  it might be about their studio album that’s been in the works for longer than a 1st grader’s life. However, a Tool subreddit suggested that it might be about their involvement at Arizona’s Monster Mash Festival  on Halloween. Turns out, that’s exactly what happened, given that today the festival announced they’d be headlining, with Primus and Coheed and Cambria opening and other announcements. Granted, that’s a great lineup for a solid show, and it’s cool to see that the band will be playing live (more dates coming? Hopefully). However, many are waiting for a little more substantial of an announcement.

If any news about the upcoming album come to light, we will report on it as usual but if you don’t want to wait for anything Tool related, you can check out Maynard J. Keenan’s speech at the Phoenix Sparks and BALLE Conference on the value of friction and tension of art in the video below. That will be the closest thing to listen Maynard’s voice in anything new that isn’t Puscifer or Tool.
