…Brought to you by MelodicRock.com. An unnamed source reportedly told the site that though the vocals were delaying the new Van Halen album’s release, everything has been since resolved and back on schedule. This was reported right around the same time that fan site Van Halen News Desk reported that the album’s mixing was complete.

As for why the vocals caused such a delay, MelodicRock’s source claimed the following:

“Eddie is just not satisfied with the vocals that have been recorded and re-recorded which has caused a lot of frustration with both the Van Halen and Roth camps alike.”

Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth not getting along, eh? That’s believable. MelodicRock also claims that Van Halen’s management is currently shopping for record deals. Though it was previously rumored that they could be pursuing an exclusive release via Walmart, it now appears that Van Halen is looking for a worldwide deal with one label.

Now comes the point of this piece where we tell you, the reader, to take this all with a grain of salt. Rumors and “inside reports from unnamed sources” have been swirling the web for almost two years now. Yet we still don’t have a new album out in stores, we still haven’t heard the first single, and a full blown Van Halen tour still hasn’t happened (though they did try to tour Australia).

So at this moment, the only people who have heard new Van Halen music is the band themselves, management (most likely), and a few active rock bands who Wolfgang apparently has taken a liking to. Will fans get to say they too have heard the album before the end of the year? Not to say it will never see the light of day, but this album could take longer to come out than Chinese Democracy did. At least this one will have three original members and not just one.
