As Livestream events start to feel more like our new normal, we can now take a moment to dissect the production behind an event even further. Right before Halloween on Friday, October 30th, Puscifer celebrated the release of their new album, Existential Reckoning, with one of the most massive production Livestream experiences we’ve seen yet with Existential Reckoning: Live at Arcosanti. As far as virtual concerts go, this one is up there with Behemoth’s extravaganza back in September. The event was extended to stream through 11:59 EST on Sunday (8th) as fans had over a week watching this visually stunning cinematic experience filmed in the Arizona desert.
While we continue to experiment with virtual events, we can certainly hope this Puscifer experience will make it to Blu-ray in the near future. The concert felt more like a film as it maintained a theatrical execution combined with stunning visuals. The audio mixed flawlessly, resulting in an impeccable method to introduce the new record. The new album was more or less brought to life as the chemistry between Maynard James Keenan and Carina Round with their powerful vocals remained transparent throughout the performance.
One thing fans can take from Livestreams over a live show is, you don’t have to question the setlist. The group introduced each song as it intertwined between the dramatic and cinematic storylines by adding text to introduce each song.
Puscifer have continued to deliver an outstanding performance and experience for their fans. It was well worth the extensive stream as you would want to experience this spectacular event more than once.
