New Brunswick, NJ progressive metallers, City of Tyrants released their debut album Revelations last year, which features a collaboration with Veil of Maya’s Lukas Magyar as he assisted with co-writing the vocals on their full-length effort. The group formed back in 2016 as they came out with the EP Erebus. Since then, the band worked on their first full-length album as it is a concept record, which was written in a first person perspective about a god-like character who is chosen to bring peace to a post apocalyptic world. The character ends up going into a battle with himself, fighting against what he promised he wasn’t going to be. Today (15th), we are happy to premiere the band’s music video for their song “Bloodlines.” The track is taken from their debut effort as the group explained:

“‘Bloodlines’ is the fourth track on the album and details the characters background and relationship with his father. Due to the fact that Revelations is a concept album, lyrically, this song is a very important piece of the puzzle. Throughout the song, the character is in battle with his own psyche and trying not to become the evil figure whom his father taught him to be. The verses of the song reflect on present day detailing his volatile relationship with his father and the chorus reflects on present day and how he wishes to have revenge.”
