The election of Donald Trump is certainly a hot topic now that he’s been inaugurated. Taking the office with the lowest approval rating of a president since the 1940s, many are unhappy with him, yet by signing a flurry of executive orders in his first week in office, he’s sticking to the promises he made on the campaign trail and satisfying his base. As it would stand to reason, there’s quite a bit of anti-Trump sentiment from the entertainment industry, many of whom are liberal. StainD frontman Aaron Lewis isn’t one of those. The singer, who played a sold-out show in Atlanta earlier this month, said in an interview with the Atlanta Journal Constitution that he was a “fiscally conservative, socially libertarian, constitutionally driven patriot.” He also says that while he initially backed Ted Cruz, he “proudly jumped into the basket of deplorables and voted for Trump.” Furthermore, the Presidential inauguration concert could have included Lewis along with 3 Doors Down, with Lewis stating that he wouldn’t have had a problem playing the concert.

Lewis has been a little more country than rock and roll lately, having released two solo albums that are more acoustic-based. If you’re looking for a less controversial take on our President, you might want to check in with Queens of the Stone Age, who are working on a new album this year. Likely incensed by the President’s executive order regarding immigration, the band responded with a picture of the Prez on their Instagram account. You can read below, but “clown penis” are the two words that caught our attention the most. Not surprisingly, reaction is mixed, with many supporting the band and others asking why they’re suddenly getting political and standing up for Trump. We certainly live in interesting times.
