When Donald Trump won the popular vote election back in November, many liberals looked back to  the Reagan/Bush years of 1980-1992 and said “well, at least some good metal and hardcore will come from it.” That was said so much that it almost became a cliche, but just over a week into his presidency, it appears that our 45th President isn’t very popular with the entertainment industry (unless your band is 3 Doors Down, Staind, or at one time had a rapping midget in it). In fact, if you buy anything from Bandcamp this Friday, you’ll be supporting the ACLU. Turns out that if you’ve got an anti-Trump/Bannon/Sessions etc. song brewing, you might be able to get it recorded by a pro for free.

Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou has isn’t very happy with the new regime either, and if you’ve got some time to kill next Monday, he’ll record your protest song for free. As you know, Ballou’s got a signature sound, which we can only describe as “awesome.” If you’ve listened to Kvelertak, High on Fire, Mutoid Man, Nails, or pretty much anything else great over the last five years, chances are he’s had a hand in it. And he’s totally cool with possibly helping you create the first amazing protest song of the Trump administration that isn’t an Anal Trump song. Here’s what he said:

Granted, you’re probably more likely to get in if you’re a New England-area band, but it’ll be interesting to see if any other recording engineers take the bait.
