Musician/filmmaker Rob Zombie has given the world another look at his upcoming The Munsters film. This time, he’s sharing pieces from the film’s wardrobe.
On Tuesday, Zombie took to Instagram with a handful of behind-the-scenes photos, captioning the post, “Things are really heating up in the wardrobe department here in Budapest. Here are a few quick glimpses.” Included in the photos are Grandpa’s cape, a jacket with a bat on the back, a spiderweb wrap and a satin cloak.
Zombie has been keeping people up-to-date on the film since announcing the project in June. Previously, he shared photos of Herman Munster and Grandpa’s headpieces, as well as photos and drawings laying out some of the costume designs and Mockingbird Lane.
‘The Munsters’ originally aired on CBS for two seasons from 1964 to 1966. The series followed the Munster family: husband/Frankenstein’s monster Herman, wife/bride of Frankenstein’s monster Lily, son/werewolf Eddie, niece Marilyn and Lily’s father/vampire Grandpa. Several films and a sequel series were also created. Rumors of reboots have been popping up for years, though they have either failed to be picked up or come to fruition at all.
The film is currently in pre-production in Budapest, Hungary. So far, Sherri Moon Zombie is the only confirmed actor and is slated to play Lily. Other names rumored to be attached to the project include Jeff Daniel Phillips (as Herman Munster), Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia, Richard Brake and Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson. It is being produced by Universal’s 1440 Productions.
Zombie has proved himself to be a huge fan of The Munsters in the past. His hit “Dragula” was named after the show’s vehicle. He also appeared in the commentary for 1966 film ‘Munster, Go Home.’
