It appears that Zao will have a new album at some point. The band, once known for its ardent Christian beginnings, issued a brief hint about not one, but two upcoming releases.
Said the band on the official Zao Facebook page:
“approving drum takes for two songs so that final recording can begin next week for a special limited edition 7 inch. One song will be on the upcoming album. one will not. more details later.”
Zao’s last full-length album was 2009s Awake?, on Ferret, and produced in part by Tim Lambesis, formerly of As I Lay Dying. We’re not sure that Ferret will be involved with this new release, but we’re pretty confident that Lambesis isn’t available.
