After nearly twenty years, UK death metal outfit Ingested have parted ways with vocalist Jason Evans. While the reason isn’t fully clear, the band expressed it’s “the best step for the future of the band and for Jason.” Evans has been their since their 2009 debut, Surpassing the Boundaries of Human Suffering, marking their latest offering released earlier this year via Metal Blade Records, The Tide of Death and Fractured Dreams, his last with the group.
The band issued the following statement on social media:
“Band Statement: Vocalist Departure
After many years of collaboration, we want to announce that we have parted ways with Jason Evans. This decision was not made lightly, but we all agree it’s the best step for the future of the band and for Jason.
We are incredibly grateful for the memories shared over the years, and we wish Jason all the best in his future endeavors.
The band remains committed to creating music and moving forward with new projects that we are excited to share with you soon. Thank you to all our fans for your continued support through this new chapter.
– Ingested”
Evans expressed the following in a video he posted on Instagram:
“After 18 years, I am no longer the vocalist of Ingested. It feels pretty weird to say that, ’cause it’s been most of my life. But I just want to thank all my family and friends for their unending support, all the friends that I’ve made through touring over the years, and most importantly all the fans, for making all this happen.
This isn’t the end for me. I’m happy, I’m healthy, I’m surrounded by people I love. I’m excited to find out what the next chapter in my life’s gonna be. I’m proud of everything that I’ve achieved over the past two decades. That music’s always gonna be there…”
