Legendary musician and Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson has died at the age of 82, as confirmed by his family on Wednesday (11.) No cause of death was revealed. Though not directly part of the metal community, Wilson’s loss is deeply felt throughout the entire music industry. Wilson’s pioneering studio techniques, emotive compositions, and influence on sound design have shaped artists across all genres. Wilson helped define the California sound with the Beach Boys, serving as the band’s chief songwriter, producer, and co-lead vocalist. His legacy includes induction into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, along with multiple Grammy Awards and the prestigious Ivor Novello Award.
