Even though their breakthrough album with him was called Cowboys From Hell, Pantera vocalist and Housecore Records founder Philip Anselmo has always been a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan. Now it seems like the Saints are returning the favor. The team  had him visit their headquarters in March to interview right tackle Jon Stinchcomb, and recently brought him back to interview tight end and known metalhead Jeremy Shockey.

In addition, Anselmo and retired Saints wide receiver Michael “Beer Man” Lewis went to the same high school. While they probably didn’t hang in the same circles, Lewis likes him enough now to have let Phil try on his Super Bowl ring. The two also teamed up for a United Way football game, with Lewis and Anselmo coaching opposing teams. I can’t think of anything cooler than hearing Anselmo give a pep talk to some underprivileged kids.

The Shockey interview will air on Louisiana Sunday kickoff, with the remainder appearing on Anselmo’s forthcoming Housecore TV.
