Things were looking good for Nonpoint last week following the announcement of their new label deal with Razor & Tie. Then, the band hit fans with a major surprise. It was revealed this past weekend that Nonpoint have parted ways with guitarist Zach Broderick and founding member/bassist Ken MacMillan. An official reasoning for the split has yet to be revealed, but MacMillan and Broderick will reportedly move forward in a new group.

Singer Elias Soriano and drummer Robb Rivera, though, have vouched to move forward as Nonpoint. Soriano posted the following on his Facebook page:

“NONPOINT LIVES!!! AND WE ARE DEADLIER THAN EVER!!! Song clips coming all this week.. Along with video of us writing and practicing with our new members. It’s time to open Pandora’s Box”

Rivera also posted the following message on Nonpoint’s Facebook page:

“We want to thank all of you for your amazing comments regarding our current situation . Elias and I (Robb) have been working hard on new music with the newest chapter of the band. We are 21 songs deep into the record with this new lineup and we will not disappoint you. We did not expect for this to go easy in any way, shape or form. We understand that fans of certain bands get attached to members of said bands but unfortunately times change. Nonpoint will continue with new people, thank you for your support and see you very soon. New album out on Razor & Tie coming Spring of 2012”

Nonpoint further confirmed that they’ve already found replacements for MacMillan and Broderick in the following two separate Facebook postings:

“Rehearsal was sick…. we threw it down in that little room. drenched in sweat and loud as hell. The way it’s supposed to be. Elias got some footage so we will have something for you this week.

We will forge on despite the negative comments. Thank you to the true fans for showing the love and support during this difficult time period. We will deliver you a sick album. If yesterday’s rehearsal was any indication our live show will be staying intact as always with an added extra sound!!!!”

While they have yet to confirm who the new members are, Nonpoint and Soriano may have let the big news slip. Soriano posted this picture of what looks to be members of the group Inn Cinema performing along with the caption “‎Change is the essence of life. You have to be willing to surrender what you are for what you know you can become.” A similar picture and caption was posted on Nonpoint’s Facebook page as well, but with the additional text “Nonpoint New album 2012 on Razor & Tie…. There 5 Deadly Sins Now.”

So it would appear that Nonpoint have now become a five piece, and that Rasheed Thomas, Dave Lizzio and Adam Woloszyn (the Inn Cinema members in the posted picture) have joined the group. And as Soriano promises, we’ll probably get to see and hear samples of the new lineup in action this week.
