We’ve known since the beginning of the year that a new album from A Perfect Circle, their first album of original material since their sophomore album, 2003’s 13th Step, would be coming this year.. And while we didn’t know what label the album would be coming out on, we do now. The group, the brainchild of guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool/Puscifer vocalist Maynard James Keenan, will be putting their next album out on BMG. Said Howerdel:
“We just signed a new record deal with BMG! Looking forward to sharing new music with you soon. New APC-2017!”
Jon Cohen, the EVP of Recorded Music at the organization, also commented:
“We’re thrilled to welcome A Perfect Circle to BMG and excited to present their highly anticipated new music to the world. Their uncompromising approach, vision and legion of fans have made them one of the most artistic and commercially successful acts in rock.”
There’s no release date for the album, but the band start touring on April 6. In an interview with Billboard, Howerdel said that they planned on playing new music on the tour, so we might get our first taste of what the as-yet-untitled album sounds like in as little as one week if he holds himself to it.
