Earlier this year, 1349 surprised us with the release of the Edvard Munch inspired song “Dødskamp.” Metal Insider contributor Jeff Podoshen reached out to the group to discuss more about this song, which he found different than the group’s previous works. Podoshen spoke to guitarist Archaon about the track as he went into detail on Munch’s art, how the group originally planned to create a song about a different painting, art in Norwegian metal as well as providing an update on the follow-up to 2014’s Massive Cauldron of Chaos.

1349’s Dødskamp EP will be released on April 5th via Season of Mist. Pre-order here.
