The Associated Press is reporting that Stefan Alois Lee, frontman of Swiss rock band Gotthard, was killed in a vehicle crash yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) on the Nevada interstate. According to authorities, Lee and eight other motorcyclists were pulled over by the side of the interstate during a rainy afternoon to change clothes when a semi trailer swerved off the road and slammed into a parked motorcycle that then hit the singer. Lee, 47 years old, was pronounced dead on the scene.
We aren’t very familiar with the band Gotthard, though they’ve apparently performed with the likes of Deep Purple and Bon Jovi in the past. Their last album released in America, Domino Effect, was released in 2007 on Nuclear Blast. While they might not have been huge, this is still very tragic. Our condolences go out to Lee’s family and friends.
