Dave Grohl seems to be a really cool dude and someone who has a lot of respect for his fellow rock musicians. With the news about Lemmy’s death, we wouldn’t expect anything less from him to pay tribute to the legend, but we thought it would be an epic eulogy like Ozzy Osbourne did yesterday. Instead, he got himself branded with a new Motörhead tattoo.
Grohl, who aside from being a close friend of Lemmy, has jammed with him, including on his side project Probot, paid a visit to his tattoo parlor on Monday night and got himself some sweet new ink displaying Motörhead’s Ace of Spades logo in honor of his deceased friend. Foo Fighters also posted on the Facebook page a short message about Lemmy’s death “We’ve lost a friend & legend. My heart is broken. RIP Lemmy. Born To Lose, Lived To Win.” Including a link to a video of Motörhead performing “Stay Clean” from their 1979 album Overkill.
Check out both musicians jamming together in several occasions. They did sound really good together.
