The drummer for Belgian metal outfit Channel Zero has passed away unexpectedly, according to a statement released by the band. Drummer Phil Baheux was 45.
While the cause of death is publicly unknown at this point, it was apparently very sudden. The band’s statement read:
“It is with great sadness that Channel Zero must announce the death of their brother and drummer Phil Baheux. The death of Phil Baheux (age 45) this morning is a terrible shock to the members of the Group and the crew. We ask you to respect the privacy of his family and the group.”
Channel Zero put out an album in 2011 on Roadrunner Records overseas (which was not released in the United States). The band, started in 1990, broke up in 2007 to reunite for performances and the record in 2010, according to Loudwire.
