New Years Day have been aggressively touring in support of their new album, Unbreakable, which was released in April 2019 via Century Media. We were lucky to catch them live during Exit 111, and their song “Shut Up” has appeared on one of our year-end lists. We learned a bit more about the group when guitarist Nikki Misery shared his favorite metal albums of the decade (2010-2019).

Megadeth, Dystopia (2016)

Dave Mustaine delivers another thrash masterpiece. The guitar work kicks all the ass. You can’t go wrong!

Body Count, Bloodlust (2017)

Ice T brings the pain. And it has killer guest artists. This album has a lot to say and beats it into your skull with every song!

Ghost, Prequelle (2018)

We just love the shit out of Ghost! Fun fact, “Rats” and “Dance Macabre” are some of our dance party pre-show songs. Ash plays them constantly.

Slipknot, We Are Not Your Kind (2019)

Slipknot is back! After four years, we are blessed with another beast of an album. Not many bands have such anthemic vocals and then bring in the brutality.

Rammstein, Rammstein (2019)

Rammstein always delivers something absolutely unique and just as awesome. The vocals always leave chills up your spine. This album smashes and does NOT disappoint.

Avenged Sevenfold, Nightmare (2010)

I couldn’t imagine what it took to make this album, but we are blessed to have it. Amazing songwriters and such passion. This is a MUST!

Code Orange, Forever (2017)

What a fucking beast of a band! One of the best live bands I’ve ever seen, hands down. Get this album and burn down the town!

Motionless In White, Disguise (2019)

It’s always so awesome to see these guys continue to grow and put out such killer records! This is one of their best. You can see the growth. You can hear the passion. This is only the beginning.

Mötley Crüe, The Dirt (2019)

It’s fucking CRUE!!! I don’t care that most of these are old songs from their history. It’s fucking Motley Crue and this album came out this year. And that live wire riff.
