Mixing It Up With Jungle Rot: A Guide To Brutal Cocktails, Part 2

Posted by on April 12, 2013

When not on the road playing brutal death metal, Jungle Rot bassist Jimmy Genenz and guitarist Geoff Bub work as bartenders. With that in mind, we asked the two to share with us some of their weirdest and heaviest drink concoctions in a new column called Mixing It Up With Jungle Rot.

Genenz and Bub are back with the second installment of Mixing It Up as they pair tasty cocktails with some of their favorite music videos. Currently on tour with Suffocation, Jungle Rot continues to slay audiences across the U.S. and playing favorites from their new album Terror Regime.  Try your hand at making these tasty concoctions and let us know what you think.

JUNGLE ROT JUICE
2 oz. Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila
2 oz. Midori
4 oz. Sour Mix

Everyone knows what goes down in the Jungle and it all has to start somewhere… Try our ultimate classic cocktail that is a must have for any and all occasions,JUNGLE ROT JUICE. It’s quite tart and delivers a shiver. I like tart and bitter drinks so this one was a no-brainer. Combine 2 oz. of Cuervo Gold, 2 oz. of Midori, and 4 oz. of Sour Mix in a shaker and shake VERY well, pour into pint glass filled with ice and serve with a Lime garnish. The ladies will love this just as much as the men. Tasty and easy to make!

What better video to watch other than our title track “Terror Regime”?

BERRIED ALIVE
2 oz. UV Blue Vodka
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
Splash of grenadine

BERRIED ALIVE of course is a play on words because this drink its very much berry flavored. Don’t let it fool you though; a few of these will kick your ass! Pour 2 oz. of UV Blue Raspberry Vodka and 2 oz of Pineapple Juice into a shaker and shake vigorously. Pour into a rocks glass with ice and serve.

Have a few BERRIED ALIVE’s while watching Obituary’s “Insane” and you will definitely feel the room spinning.

M-80
2-3 oz. Monster Energy Drink (or your energy drink of choice)
1 oz. Red Stag
¼ oz. Amaretto

Basically a “bomb,” I use sugar free Monster with a 1 oz. shot of Red Stag (best thing Kid Rock was ever involved with). To finish, drop a good 1/4 oz of Amaretto into the shot of bourbon, it should overflow into energy drink. Pound a few of these bad boys and feel the heat. Cheers.

The M-80 definitely causes destruction so watch Destruction’s “Carnivore” and prepare for battle.

The DEMOGORGON
¾ oz. Gin
¾ oz. Dry Vermouth
¾ oz. Sweet Vermouth
1 oz. Orange Juice
Dash of bitters

Since I like bitter tasting drinks and enjoy Vermouth, THE DEMOGORGON is a good one for those who enjoy the same. It almost takes like grapefruit juice and too many of them will definitely get the burps started. It definitely has a sweet and sour aftertaste but very pleasing. But either way it’s one tasty concoction, especially for the ladies. Combine ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice into a cocktail glass.

Watch Kreator’s “People Of The Lie” and be prepared to pucker up and kiss THE DEMOGORGON or the person next to you.
