It’s that time of year where next year’s festivals start taking the wraps off of their lineups. We’ve already found out who’s playing the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, as well as some of the Warped Tour’s lineup. Now annual New Jersey event The Bamboozle has announced the dates and headliners for next year’s festival, but they’ve switched it up. Since branching off from the Skate & Surf Festival in Asbury Park, the event’s been held in the Meadowlands in the parking lot of the now-demolished Giants Stadium. In 2012, not only are they moving back to Asbury Park, it seems like they’re going after somewhat of a different demographic.

This year’s Bamboozle, taking place May 18-20, will be headlined by Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, and Blink 182. Those three acts say a lot about what they’re aiming for. Not only are they all heritage, but they have a reach far beyond the typical 14 year-old pop punk demo that the festival has attracted in previous years. Bon Jovi and the Foos especially could easily attract both soccer moms and mainstream rock fans that wouldn’t know who Attack Attack! were if they were attack attacked by them. The festival’s return to Asbury Park both hearkens back to the early days of the festival and serves as a unique setting for a festival. It will be held on Asbury Park’s north shore. While the three headliners are the only acts announced so far, there will be plenty more bands throughout the festival’s nine stages. Tickets will go on sale on December 17th.
