Metal Allegiance, the supergroup formed by an immense list of metal musicians, have been busy getting ready to release their self-titled debut album on September 18th through Nuclear Blast Records, but if you were wondering “how are they going to coordinate that many musicians to play these songs live?” we have a treat for you.

The band announced a show on September 17th at the Best Buy Theater in NYC to celebrate the release of the album and the list of guest musicians confirmed to appear, while not as large and impressive as their first appearance earlier this year in Anaheim, is still very promising. Aside from the main members Alex Skolnick from Testament, Mike Portnoy from The Winery Dogs, Megadeth’s David Ellefson and Mark Menghi, these are the musicians set to perform:

Frank Bello (Anthrax)
Charlie Benante (Anthrax)
Chuck Billy (Testament)
Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy)
Gary Holt (Slayer/Exodus)
Scott Ian (Anthrax)
Mark Osegueda (Death Angel)
Troy Sanders (Mastodon)

Prior to the evening concert, presenting sponsor D’Addario and Company will host an educational event featuring select members of Metal Allegiance. The event, entitled D’Addario LIVE, is part of a larger effort to increase D’Addario’s support of music education by engaging students and providing inspiring musical experiences in an interactive environment that is both entertaining and educational. As an added benefit for those who decide to attend, each person will receive a free set of D’Addario strings, ProMark drum sticks or Evans drum head during the master class.

Pseudo-writer with little to no expectations of ever winning a Pulitzer but totally down to write about your unknown band if it's good to my ears. I enjoy long walks on the beach, deep conversation, holding hands and attending Satanic music shows every now and then.
