4. Megadeth, Risk

Essentially, 1999’s Risk was to Megadeth what Load was to Metallica. In an attempt to reach a wider audience, Dave Mustaine and company set forth to create an arena rock album. In fact, the song “Crush Em” was written as a hockey anthem, and was used as WCW champion Bill Goldberg’s entrance theme (it was also used in the movie Universal Soldier: The Return starring Goldberg and Jean-Claude Van Damme). While that song in particular was used at sporting events quite a bit, longtime fans of Megadeth hated the album with a passion. In fact, Mustaine himself has even gone on to admit that the album was almost a “serious career-ending mistake”
