5. Possessed’s Seven Churches
In the beginning, people weren’t doing [what Possessed were playing]. It was them and Slayer with that kind of, I don’t know if you would call it “death metal” kind of thrash because they were a little bit more extreme than everybody else was in that respect. That’s why to me that record steps out likeShow No Mercy by Slayer did, the same kind of thing. It was like “Whoa, what the hell is this? You guys took this to another level. We thought we were evil, but look how evil these guys are! Hey, you can’t be more evil than us!” That kind of mentality, and I love that record.
