5. Anagnorisis – Beyond All Light (self-released)
Have I possibly saved the best for last? Very well could have, again I can’t pick favorites. Anagnorisis hail from the great state of Kentucky, and after a few releases, they hit the nail on the fucking head with “beyond all light”. These guys blend the American side of things with a European twist, resulting in some absolutely crushing results. The pure evil and speed of “This Cursed Blood” rips like Dark Funeral and closer “Forever Night” bums me out like Lifellover, only with better production! I’m fortunate to call these southern gentlemen some of my best friends. This album kills and deserves all the attention it can possibly receive.
