4. Gevurah – Necheshirion (Profound Lore)
The most evil thing I’ve heard all year, hands down. While a lot of the black metal I tend to gravitate towards is on the melodic side of things, nothing beats the pure evil side to the genre. Necheshirion comes from the second wave of Norwegian black metal side of things, adding way cleaner production and speed, making this release stand out among other bands influenced by the likes of Darkthrone, Mayhem, etc. I couldn’t really find anything about Gevurah, besides they’re 2 dudes from Montreal who go by the names “A.L.” and “X.T.”, which only adds to their mystique. Their website is simply an image of bloody skull with 3 candles burning behind it. Evil, evil shit right here. Highly recommended.
