It’s particularly sad that Steele died just as Type O Negative was undergoing a renaissance. 2007’s Dead Again was the band’s highest-charting album, and Steele had kicked drugs at the time of his death. Ironically, “Halloween in Heaven” is actually about another departed rock star, Dimebag Darrell. We can only think that Steele would have a laugh knowing that this song is being used to celebrate his life and death.
