korn12. Korn is already discussing ideas for new songs

Korn’s last album The Paradigm Shift is barely a year old, and a “World Tour Edition” came out just a few weeks ago. Yet accordingly to Munky,  he has already started talking with Brian “Head” Welch about goals for the next effort, saying how they “really want to keep the melodic element of what we captured on the last record and really expand on the heavy riffs… Get a bit dirtier, get our hands dirty. Maybe a little longer songs… a little more math rock, not so prog rocky but a little more of that slower tempo grooves that are a little ‘7-8-3-4’ timing and stuff like that.”

1. Korn will be touring the U.S. again this fall; ironing out plans to celebrate their self-titled debut’s 20th anniversary

Even though they’re close to completing their co-headlining run on Mayhem Fest, and will be the first to admit they’ve been touring like crazy, Korn still has no plans to slow down on the road. While they weren’t allowed to say during the press conference, Munky and Luzier admitted that Korn does have big plans in the works for a U.S. tour in the fall. Munky also revealed that Korn will likely do something to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut next year (“even though it’s this year,” he admits). “We came up with a couple of ideas, but I think it’ll have to be some sort of performance with us in some unusual place,” shared Munky, though he was quick to point out that they “still have to figure out the details and the exact location.”
