Does Dokken’s hair metal stand up almost 30 years later? That’s up for debate, but it was perfect for 1987, when the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise was hitting it’s peak. Original director Wes Craven returned to write the film, and it was the most successful of the first three movies. Getting Dokken to write the theme song made at least some degree of sense, given that George Lynch has a guitar named “Mr. Scary.” And the video is as campy and fun as the film, with Robert “Freddy” Englund appearing in it.
